We're committed to our team's well-being.
Multidisciplinary Task Force:
The care and concern for our LC team members, residents, neighbors and communities is our highest priority. With this in mind, we have assembled an internal, multidisciplinary task force to closely monitor the impact of COVID-19 on all aspects of the communities we serve. We are following guidance from the CDC on cleaning and disinfecting and have implemented temporary policies for resident events, hospitality and social distancing in an effort to prevent additional risk. Additionally, we continue to share resources from the CDC, WHO and Unicef with all team members.
Safety and well-being of team members:
In our pledge to continue supporting our team members, we offer paid emergency sick leave to all full-time team members who need it. For those who are sick, have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, are high-risk, or cannot work because their children are at home, we will offer them more paid time off. Put simply, a member of our LC family will never have to choose between work and taking care of themselves and their loved ones.
For our team members who are deemed essential for our customers and communities, we are taking appropriate precautions to put their safety first. We’ve implemented a series of preventative health measures from increasing the frequency and intensity of cleaning to ensuring the adherence of recommended social distancing guidelines by residents, prospects, and guests. Lastly, the mental health of our team is just as important as physical health. Team members have access to quality mental health care, including free counseling through the Employee Assistance Program.
We're prioritizing the safety of our residents and guests.
Service to our residents remains a core focus. At this time, our communities are open with essential services being provided. We are asking residents to contact the community teams via phone, email or resident portal and to refrain from visiting the office in order to minimize in-person interactions. We encourage all residents to utilize resident portals for maintenance service requests. Additionally, our Maintenance teams are available for critical issues and are prioritizing the completion of emergency requests. During this time of uncertainty, our homes are a place of harbor and comfort; as such, our Community teams are working directly and confidentially with any resident facing financial hardship or instability resultant of COVID-19 .
We’re gradually beginning to reopen our amenities, where permitted by local government and public health authorities. Just like you, we’re adjusting as new information becomes available.
Our focus continues to be on how to reopen safely - not just when - to safeguard the health and well-being of our communities. With health and safety prioritized, we are complying with the guidelines and taking thoughtful, measured steps to open responsibly. Our goal continues to be to exceed the standards outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including a heightened emphasis on cleaning, sanitizing and physical distancing protocols.
